Dinner on the move

WARGRAVE’S “biggest ever dinner party” will be one of the new attractions at this year’s village festival.

The walking safari supper on Saturday, June 15 will involve pairs of people visiting three houses in the village for a different food course, one of which they will prepare themselves.

Each pair will host a starter, main course or dessert for three other couples before moving on to the next house with a different group of people.

Starters should be prepared and served in 45 minutes and main courses in an hour.

Every pair will leave at the same time, meaning they are likely to meet other people in the village on their way to the next house. They won’t know who is coming to their house until the day.

Following the final course, all participants will meet for cheese and port.

This year’s festival will be held from June 12 to 30. For more information, visit

• The festival will take card payments for the first time this year.
