Road closed after powerline accident

Police have closed a road in Peppard after a tree fell down in the night, taking powerlines down with it.

The B481 is closed at the junction for about 500m for safety reasons as there are live wires on the road.

The tree is believed to have fallen down last night in the heavy winds.

Drivers trying to get to Cane End should take a diversion along Greys Road via Shepherd’s Green.

The road will be closed until the electricity company have fixed the issue.
