Thanks for making Christmas better

Thanks for making Christmas better

Sir, — May we take the opportunity to thank and congratulate all those who have taken part or been involved in organising the Henley’s Christmas celebrations over the past two weeks: the Christmas Festival, the over-65s Christmas lunch, the Festive Sunday Shopping and the Mayor’s charity fund- raising events, the wine tasting, wreath-making and Santa fun run.

All of these events happen only thanks to the hard work and dedication of the town hall staff. This photograph was taken from the town hall steps on the night of the Christmas Festival. The Christmas tree (kindly sponsored by Invesco Perpetual) that was sourced locally this year and the new Christmas lights make a real difference — the town is brighter, cleaner and better this year.

We thank all those who have worked so hard to make it all happen.

Merry Christmas to all your readers. — Yours faithfully,

Julian Brookes, Mayor, Will Hamilton, Deputy Mayor
