Charge your car here, if there's room

Charge your car here, if there's room

Sir, — Let us put the events of 2016 behind us and forget that, contrary to the wishes of the town and those of us who had worked so diligently to create a (John Howell-authorised) neighbourhood plan, South Oxfordshire District Council managed to turn Henley into the care home capital of middle England (admittedly with a little help from the casting vote of a councillor representing the residents of Benson).

This year has got off to a rip-roaring start. It seems that, without fanfare, an electric vehicle charging point with bays for two cars has been installed in the King’s Road car park. What’s more, the bays are very conveniently located right next to the toilets.

This is very good news for those of us with electric cars and limited bladders.

However, as you can see in my picture, someone has stuck a diesel-driven 4x4 in the way... but this is Henley after all. — Yours faithfully,

Dick Fletcher
