Sir, — I was in Hambleden the other day and noticed this sign outside the general store.
I have often thought that similar signs should be displayed on some of the side roads in Henley (ours included) where parking on both sides of the road leads to limited access for emergency service vehicles.
I know people park half on the road and half on the pavement (although it is illegal) to make room but all the same in an emergency a fire engine or an ambulance needs to get to its destination quickly, not slalom its way through parked cars.
Just a thought for the town or county council to consider. — Yours faithfully,
