Sir, - What a wonderful response we had from everyone in Henley to our community launch held at the Old Fire Station Gallery last week.
All of us at Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service were delighted to greet so many existing friends and to make even more new ones during the four days we shared the designs for the local children’s hospice, as well as a remarkable exhibition of artworks thanks to Jonty Hearnden.
Thanks to generous shoppers and passers-by, our weekend street collection raised £247.03 and our total for the whole event was more than £8,200.
Special thanks to all the Henley businesses that supported us - and what a wonderful surprise to be featured on the front page of the
Henley Standard. It made a great event extra special.
The money raised will help us to build a truly local children’s hospice so that families can access the care and support they need within their local community.
A total of £3.5million has been raised so far, preparation work is under way and building will begin soon, just off the A404M, less than nine miles from Henley.
In addition we raise money to provide the Alexander’s care team, delivering palliative care, respite and support to children with life–limiting and life–threatening conditions in their own homes.
If you did not have the chance to call in, please call us on 0845 055 8276 or email email@example.com to find out more. Thank you once again for your valued support. Together, we are making a huge difference to the lives of local children suffering from life–limiting and life–threatening illnesses. â?? Yours faithfully,
Co–founder and chief executive, Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service
Thanks for an amazing festival
Sir, â?? On behalf of Henley Youth Festival, we would like to thank Henley for an amazing HYF 2015.
We had more than 39 school workshops, Â 16 out–of–school workshops, seven performing arts events, including five inspiring performances at the Kenton Theatre, one inter–school cross–country run and writing, photo and art competitions and exhibitions.
There is a large team of volunteers who work throughout the year to bring the festival together and without them it would not be possible. Many thanks to everyone for all your hard work and dedication to HYF.
We are very grateful to the local companies who are our sponsors. They include Invesco Perpetual, the Henley Festival, Henley Town Council, Henley Royal Regatta, Henley Round Table, Henley Lions, Arbib Foundation, HEDFAS, Henley Educational Trust, Hofmann’s, Quintessa and many more. In addition, local company Thought By Design gave their time and expertise to develop our website www.hyf.org.uk
We feel privileged to be part of such a wonderful team who enable the young people of Henley to try out new activities both in school and out, demonstrate their skills and build their confidence.
We look forward to celebrating all that the young people have to offer again in 2016! Yours faithfully,
