HIGGS Group, publisher of the Henley Standard, is the main sponsor of this years Living Advent Calendar in Henley.
The announcement was made today (Friday), just weeks before the start of this years Christmas celebrations.
The calendar, now in its fourth year, takes the form of a half-hour festive show each evening between December 1 and Christmas Eve.
The performances will range from music and dance to drama, poetry and storytelling but the artists identities will be kept secret until the night. Richard Rodway, chairman of the calendar trust, said: Higgs Group and the Henley Standard is a major part of Henleys infrastructure and with it supporting the event and helping us is not just fantastic, it speaks volumes for the event itself.
Nigel White, commercial director of Higgs Group, said: We have supported and promoted this fantastic series of events since its inception. The calendar really brings the community together and leaves you feeling full of Christmas cheer.
We always like to be involved in anything that helps our community and we will do whatever we can to help Richard and his team continue the calendars success. As part of the deal, Higgs Group will print promotional posters and booklets for the event. The Henley Standard will continue to provide its unrivalled coverage of each night with reports and pictures in the paper as well as video at its website,
Each calendar performance will be free to watch but there will be collections and raffles.
This years chosen charities are Riverside Counselling, Headway Thames Valley, the Chiltern Centre for disabled children, Mohawk, near Wargrave, and the Henley Regatta for the Disabled.
