Peugeot tops chart with 208

by Nigel Wigmore

THE Peugeot 208 — the French car company’s best-selling car — has won the Fleet News 2014 Best Small Car accolade, it was announced at a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London.

The 208 beat other challenging competitors in this highly important sector where the combination of value, specification, performance and operating costs can make all the difference. The 208 was launched in 2012 and has introduced new high levels of quality, design and modernity, with a specification and engine range that make it a compelling consideration.

This award follows the recent news of continued Peugeot success — the 308 being awarded the top automotive accolade of European Car of the Year 2014. This is the fourth time Peugeot has won the award, previously with the 307 (2002), 405 (1988) and 504 (1969).

There are now more than 60,000 Peugeot 208s on UK roads.

with prices starting from £9,995 for the 1.0-litre VTi.
