CHILDREN will be able to visit the River and Rowing Museum in Henley free as part of the town’s Olympic celebration.

They will also give youngsters a free gift on September 17 and 18 in a partnership with Henley Town Council.

Next Saturday thousands of people are expected to line the route of the “Heroes Return” parade to celebrate the team GB rowers’ success in Rio.

Visitors to the museum will be able to see the International Rowing Gallery and “Designing the Olympics”, an exhibition that relives the excitement of London 2012 with costumes, models and drawings from the torch relay, the opening ceremony and the Games themselves.

On October 1 the museum will host members of the Team GB rowing squad talking about their experiences in Rio.

The athletes will include double Olympic champion Alex Gregory, from Ipsden, and Frances Houghton, who has three Olympic silver medals.
