HARRY Potter fans are heading for Henley’s River and Rowing Museum as part of a fun competition that runs until midnight on Sunday, November 1.
The contest has been organised by publishers Bloomsbury to celebrate the release of the first illustrated edition of
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling and Jim Kay.
The “Harry Potter Spotter” competition challenges people of all ages to seek out and photograph an image from the book placed in museums around the country and share them via social media.
Working with the charity Kids in Museums, Bloomsbury has placed 12 Jim Kay prints in 12 different museums around the UK and Ireland.
With a clue to solve at each venue, participants are asked to find each image, take a photo of themselves with it, then share it via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #HarryPotterSpotter. The clue “Find Harry and Hagrid and watch as they float / from Reading to Marlow in a small â??River’ boat” will lead those taking part to the River and Rowing Museum, where a mystery print will be displayed in one of the galleries.
