Indie queen is ‘Live and Loud’

INDIE rock queen Kristin Hersh is playing Sub89 in Reading on Wednesday (March 13) as part of her “Live and Loud” UK tour.

Her band for the evening will be former Throwing Muses bassist Fred Abong and 50 Foot Wave drummer Rob Ahlers.

Hersh, 52, formed music press favourites Throwing Muses with her step-sister Tanya Donelly in 1981 and the band later signed to the British independent label 4AD in 1986.

Donelly later formed her own band, Belly, with Hersh embarking on a solo career in the mid-Nineties. Hersh now has 11 solo albums to her name but Throwing Muses still regularly reform to play live.

Doors at the Friar Street venue open at 7.30pm. Tickets are £22. For more information and to book, visit
