Review: Peppard classical concert is a Latin treat
A CONCERT held recently at All Saints Church in Peppard raised more than £1,000 for a local educational charity.

Claire Overbury on flute and Elena Zucchini on guitar entertained the audience with a recital of Spanish and Latin American-style music entitled Summertime Tango.

Claire, who grew up in Peppard virtually next door to the church, now lives in London and works closely with fellow recitalist Elena who hails from Tuscany, where she was inspired to play the guitar by listening to her uncle playing classical and flamenco music. Both soloists are of international standing and have received numerous awards and prizes.

Proceeds from the concert on Friday, June 13 were donated to the Peppard Educational Trust which was established from the proceeds of the sale of the old Peppard Middle School in the Sixties, following the creation of Chiltern Edge School.

Over the years, this small charity has supported many children and young adults from the Peppard area in a wide range of educational activities, including an accelerated maths course for young children at an Oxford college and a world challenge expedition to Romania.
