THE organisers of a jazz mini-festival in aid of the Kamuli Mission Hospital in rural Uganda have introduced a group discount for tickets ahead of the event tomorrow (Saturday).
Advance tickets for the Jazz for Kamuli event at Perseverance Farm in Harpsden are on sale priced £50 — with £55 set to be the price on the door.
But anyone making a group booking for four or more people will pay just £25 a ticket.
Stephen Wellings of Jazz in Reading, which is helping organise the event, said: “Bring your friends, see a jazz line-up to die for and make a contribution to a really worthwhile charity.”
Tomorrow’s festival starts at 4pm, with picnicking in the grounds before the music gets under way at 6pm.
First up are Art Themen’s New Directions Quintet followed by the Jason Rebello Quartet at 8pm and Anglo-American jazz supergroup The Impossible Gentlemen at 9.45pm.
The Kamuli Mission Hospital is supported by Henley GP Dr Philip Unwin of the Hart Surgery in York Road, whose fundraising and volunteering efforts have previously been backed by the Henley Rotary Club.
He will be giving a short talk on the work of the Kamuli Friends group — to which all profits from the event are being donated — from 7.45pm to 8pm.
A bar will be available in a marquee near the stage area and the event runs until 11pm. For more information and to book tickets, visit the Jazz in Reading website at www.jazzinreading.com/jfk
