Jazz singer drops into Goring Gap
SINGER James Tormé will be performing at Goring Village Hall next Friday as part of a UK tour.

James, son of jazz musician Mel Tormé and grandson of the actress Thora Hird, is based in California but will be singing at the Goring Gap gig with the Ronnie Scott All Stars Quintet.

His tour begins this weekend at the Love Supreme festival in Sussex and also takes in dates in London and Edinburgh.

After winning the Chuck Niles Jazz Music Award in 2007 and having released two independent CDs, he signed with KOCH records (now E1) in 2008. His debut album was released in June 2011.

Tickets for the gig on Friday, July 11 are £20 and are available from Inspiration on Goring High Street or by calling John on (01491) 874492.
