BEL CANTO Chorus will be celebrating their fifth anniversary by performing Vivaldi’s Gloria at Henley Christ Church Centre later this month.
The chorus, a choir for female voices, was formed in March 2008 and has gone from strength to strength.
Their first musical director, Nicky Jerrome, set the standard high and the choir won awards in music festivals in Cheltenham and Bedford. In 2011 Nicky left the choir to have a baby and the chorus appointed David Kirby-Ashmore, an experienced adjudicator, singing teacher and performer, to take them on to the next level.
The choir rehearses in Sonning at the Pearson Hall on Monday evenings and they are always looking for ladies who want to challenge themselves and have fun in their social atmosphere.
The choir’s repertoire is mainly classical with new arrangements by David of classical, folk and madrigals as well as numbers by The Beatles and Abba.
The anniversary concert on Saturday, April 20 includes music by Mozart, Mendelssohn, Fauré and Rutter as well as Gloria. For tickets and information call 07766 077527 or email info. email@example.com
