A LAST Night of the Proms concert featuring the Henley Symphony Orchestra will be held at St Mary’s Church in Henley on Saturday, September 7, beginning at 7.30pm.
The orchestra, conducted by Ian Brown, will play music by Gershwin and Handel, among others, and after the interval there will be a live broadcast of the BBC Proms from the Albert Hall.
The concert is being organised by Henley Mayor Stefan Gawrysiak to raise money for his chosen charities, Sue Ryder, Headway, Riverside Counselling, Oxfordshire Age UK Oxfordshire and the Chiltern Centre for disabled children.
He said: “It will be a brilliant event for Henley with fun, flags and bunting provided.”
Tickets cost £17.50 each (£5 for under-16s) and are available from the town hall on (01491) 576982.
