A VILLAGE hall in South Oxfordshire will be transformed into a jazz club for one night only next month, writes Tom Ryan.
Usually the home of Kingfisher Kindergarten, WI meetings and exercise classes, Eye and Dunsden hall is to host its first gig on Saturday, September 7.
Saxaphone and piano duo Ian Millar and Dominic Spencer bring their Jazz In The Village show to Dunsden as part of a tour which will also include dates at village halls all over Britain, from Gloucestershire to Durham.
Based in Edinburgh and favourites at the Fringe Festival, they have performed at venues all across Europe.
Pianist Dominic says: “We have been very successful at transforming the village halls into an intimate cabaret-style jazz club setting with low lighting and candles on the tables.”
Drinks and snacks will be available throughout the evening at the licensed bar.
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 8pm with doors opening at 7.30pm, cost £8 or £15 for a pair and can be purchased from Binfield Heath Stores or by sending a cheque or BACS payment to Eye and Dunsden Village Hall.
