Dare to see classic horror

A THRILLING night is in store for theatregoers in Oxford later this month.

A THRILLING night is in store for theatregoers in Oxford later this month.

There is another chance to see the hit show The Woman In Black.

Susan Hill’s classic horror story was first adapted for the stage in 1989, opening in the West End.

Since then it has been performed in more than 40 countries and was made into a film starring Daniel Radcliffe, in 2012. That version became the highest grossing British horror movie in the last 20 years.

The story follows the fortunes of a lawyer obsessed with a curse he believes has been cast over him. Thinking he has found a solution, he engages a sceptical young actor to exorcise the fear that grips his soul. As they reach into his darkest memories, borders between make-believe and reality begin to blur.

The play arrives at Oxford Playhouse from Monday, January 26 to Saturday, January 31.

Tickets are available from the box office on 01865 305305 or online at www.oxfordplayhouse.com
