Reformed Kinks play at Norden Farm

To their legions of fans, The Kinks were the sound of the Sixties, in a very crowded market

To their legions of fans, The Kinks were the sound of the Sixties, in a very crowded market. If wandering near the Thames Embankment in the rosy hours before dusk always brings the sweet, meandering Waterloo Sunset.

The Kast Off Kinks are all members of the original band, apart from the Davies brothers. As The Kinks, they scored their first hit with

You Really Got Me
in 1964 and went on to rack up millions of record sales and countless awards before breaking up in 1996.

Original drummer Mick Avory is joined by John Dalton (bass, vocals) from the Sixties/Seventies line-up, with Ian Gibbons (keyboards/vocals) from the Eighties/Nineties, who still plays with Ray Davies. Dave Clark (guitar/vocals) completes the line-up  and has played with the Beach Boys, Noel Redding and Tim Rose.

The Kast Off Kinks will be playing all the favourites, including

Dedicated Follower of Fashion
,

Lola,
and

Apeman
.

The Kast Off Kinks will play at Norden Farm in Maidenhead on Thursday at 8pm and tickets are £16. Box office 01628 788997 or www.nordenfarm.org
