A question of getting Bach to basics

A CLASSICAL concert for babies, children and parents is coming to Henley on Monday.

A CLASSICAL concert for babies, children and parents is coming to Henley on Monday.

Bach to Baby was launched in Windsor last month, featuring Sally Pryce and her Heavenly Harp, and will be at St Mary’s Church in Henley next, with more dates in the Thames Valley to be announced.

Tim Carleston (trumpet and countertenor), accompanied by Bach to Baby founder Miaomiao Yu (piano), believe children can enjoy live classical music from their earliest days.

Husband and wife, Deborah and Tim Carleston, who are running the series, said: “Music is an intrinsic part of human expression and the human experience. Therefore, we believe quality live music should be available to all, including babies and young children of the Thames Valley.”

Yu added: “It’s about Mozart and Bach, feeding and crying, and dancing to music – all of it. We haven’t made it through a concert without at least one nappy change. That’s the way it should be.”

The concert will run from 10.30am to 11.30am with a half–hour mingle offering caffeine, calories and company for mums and dads.
