Concert to benefit disabled youngsters

THE Henley Music Centre will be presenting a summer concert on Monday (June 29) at 7pm

THE Henley Music Centre will be presenting a summer concert on Monday (June 29) at 7pm at the Christ Church Centre in Reading Road.

There will be a collection at the end, with proceeds going to the Chiltern Centre in Greys Road, Henley, which offers respite care for disabled children.

Music will be performed by three groups — Henley Suzuki Violins, Vivaldi Superstrings, and the Henley Youth Chamber Orchestra. As concertgoers enter the church, members from all three groups will play the Canon by Pachelbel.

Paul Cox, the chairman of the Eureka! Foundation and head of strings at the University of Southampton, said: “Pieces will be very varied but include music from the Bach Double Violin Concerto, the Blue Danube Waltz, and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. Entry is free but exit is a donation to the Chiltern Centre.”
