JAMES TORME is coming back to Goring.

JAMES TORME is coming back to Goring.

The American jazz singer, who is the son of vocalist and composer Mel Torme, will appear at the village hall on September 11.

He will be accompanied by members of the Ronnie Scott’s All Stars. The concert, organised by the Gap Gig, starts at 8pm and entry is £20.

Tickets must be booked in advance from Inspiration in High Street or from John Calvert on (01491) 874492.

Meanwhile, the Miller of Mansfield in High Street is to host two performances by local groups.



Soul trio Heather-Jayne and the Red Shoes are playing at 4pm on Sunday while acoustic pop covers quartet The Mysteries will play at 7.30pm on September 11.

Next, organist Michael Howell is to deliver a recital at St Thomas’s Church next Friday. The programme starts at 7.30pm and includes works by Bach, Franck and Mendelssohn.
