Acoustic folk trio

THREE musicians from folk rock and acoustic roots group Lindisfarne will perform at the Crooked Billet

THREE musicians from folk rock and acoustic roots group Lindisfarne will perform at the Crooked Billet pub in Stoke Row next month.

Founder member Ray Jackson will be appearing alongside Jerry Donahue and Doug Morter.

The Geordie band’s hits include Meet me on the Corner, Lady Eleanor, Clear White Light, Fog on the Tyne and Run for Home.

Ray also wrote and recorded the Rod Stewart hit Maggie May, which features his iconic mandolin solo.

Jerry, of Fairport Convention, is a hugely influential guitarist, who has toured and recorded with former Beatle George Harrison while guitarist and vocalist Doug, a founder member of Steeleye Span, completes the line-up.

Lindisfarne will be performing at the Crooked Billet on September 7. For tickets and table reservations, call (01491) 681048.
