Picnic at Hospice on last night of the Proms

MUSICIAN and radio presenter Mike Read will open the Sue Ryder hospice Picnic at the Proms next Saturday (September 12)

MUSICIAN and radio presenter Mike Read will open the Sue Ryder hospice Picnic at the Proms next Saturday (September 12).

The event will take place in the grounds of the hospice at Joyce Grove in Nettlebed.

The line-up of musical acts includes classical and flamenco guitarist David Buckingham, covers band Custom Guitar Rebels, featuring former Springfields guitarist Andy Marlow, and Opera Anywhere.

Their performances will be followed by a live screening from the Royal Albert Hall of the climax to the Proms.

Visitors are encouraged bring a picnic and a blanket to sit on and to dress for the occasion.

Vikki Miles, events fund-raiser for Sue Ryder, said: ?It?s going to be a fabulous evening with lots of music and food and a live feed of the Proms.? Tickets cost £25 for an adult, £10 for children under 16 or £20 a head for groups of 10 or more. A free drink is included with every adult ticket.

The gates will open at 5.30pm for a 7pm start.
