‘Dynamite’ organist coming to town hall

FANS of organ music are looking forward to Sunday afternoon — when Henley town hall plays

FANS of organ music are looking forward to Sunday afternoon — when Henley town hall plays host to one “Little Miss Dynamite”.

This is the arresting stage name of Elisabeth Harrison — a theatre organist of more than 20 years’ experience whose career achievements include being voted North West Organist of the Year.

The 3pm concert has been organised by the Henley and District Theatre Organ Trust, whose chairman Gordon Mintern said a rare treat was in store.

“Elizabeth is an award-winning performer with a delightful style and playing technique,” he said. “She can adapt her skills to theatre organs both large and small, entertaining the audience with unique sounds and styles ranging from light classics to marches, with a varied concert programme designed to suit all tastes.”

Mr Mintern added: “Elizabeth is certainly dynamic, with her delightful Lancashire accent she soon has the audience captivated with so many activities. She is always looking to improve her numerous skills — and no doubt further new challenges await!”

Entry is £7 (concessions £6.50) with the proceeds going to Sue Ryder. Doors open at 2pm for a 3pm start.
