Unplugged bands back in town

THE latest in a new series of “intimate acoustic music” concerts in Henley town centre takes place on Sunday evening (February 28)

THE latest in a new series of “intimate acoustic music” concerts in Henley town centre takes place on Sunday evening (February 28).

The Athlete Service shop in the Greys Road car park will play host to up and coming Oxford band Balloon Ascents and critically acclaimed Birmingham duo Mellow Peaches, both of whom will be performing unplugged.

Doors open at 7.30pm and the first act is due on stage at 8pm.

Tickets are £6 in advance (or £8 on the door), available from the In The Groove record shop in Reading Road or online at www.iamhenley.wix.com/iamin

The concert is part of the “I.A.M Henley” series organised by Louise Colam, a folk musician who moved to the town with her family two years ago.

I.A.M Henley divides into “I.A.M @ Home” concerts held at people’s houses to raise money for a new music classroom at Valley Road Primary School, where Louise’s son is a pupil, and “I.A.M in Town” concerts held at Athlete Services.

Last month both Balloon Ascents and Mellow Peaches played an I.A.M @ Home concert in Elizabeth Road, Henley.
