ON Tuesday, March 1, the Queen Anne’s music department has organised an inaugural concert for the newly formed Kairos Ensemble in the school hall at 7.30pm.
The ensemble is a semi-professional group that focuses on modern-day music and was formed at Queen Anne’s School. They will be performing the following repertoire on March 1:
•Songs of a Wayfarer by Mahler (arranged by Schoenberg)
•Four Pieces for Clarinet and Piano Op 5 by Berg
Six Little Piano Pieces Op 19 by Schoenberg
•Chamber Symphony for 15 Solo Instruments by Schoenberg.
The ensemble is professionally directed by Stefan Hofkes. Nicholas Shipman (clarinet), You Chiung Lin (piano) and John Bacon (tenor) will be the main soloists during the concert.
