FOLK rock veterans Fairport Convention, recently described as “a national treasure” by the Times, are playing Nettlebed Village Club on Monday.
Next year will see the band celebrate 50 years of music-making and doing what they love best — treading the boards.
Every spring they undertake a nationwide UK tour, which this year features material from their latest album, Myths and Heroes, along with old favourites.
The band are credited with creating British folk rock music with their 1969 album Liege and Lief, which BBC Radio 2 listeners recently voted the most influential folk album of all time.
Monday’s concert starts at 8pm and tickets are priced £21.50 in advance. To book, call 01628 636620 or visit www.nettlebedfolkclub.co.uk
