THREE of Britain’s leading folk musicians will be in concert at Nettlebed Village Club on Monday evening.
Martin Simpson, Andy Cutting and Nancy Kerr released their first album together, Murmurs, this time last year.
Each an acknowledged virtuoso in their own right, they decided to join forces after appearing together on stage in various combinations in recent years and thoroughly enjoying the experience.
They cite “the joy of playing and exploring the possibilities of music” among their key motivations.
Nettlebed Folk Song Club spokesman Mike Sanderson said Simpson, Cutting and Kerr were veterans of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.
“Nancy won folk singer of the year in 2015. Martin has been nominated 27 times — more than anyone else — and has won six. Andy has won three — and you can see all three perform together!”
Monday’s show starts at 8pm at the village club in High Street, Nettlebed.
Tickets are priced £16 in advance and will cost £1 more on the door.
