Borlase prove too strong

SHIPLAKE COLLEGE, who have only had two training sessions due to the bad weather, went down to a heavy defeat against Sir William Borlase in their first match of the season.

Shiplake edged a close first half thanks to accurate shooting by captain Sophie Arnold (GA). Good attacking support from Libby Harman (C) and Hannah Cartwright (WA) helped Shiplake take a three-goal lead.

With squad rotation in evidence throughout the game, the second half took a different pattern as Shiplake lost fluency in their play.

Chloe Goodman (GS) had a good game while versatile player Alice White was used in the shooting circle and in defence throughout the game. Lucy Collings (WD) and Stacie Kozhemyakina (GK) worked tirelessly in defence, but it was not enough to hold Borlase who eased to victory.
