Rule-breaking drivers on Fair Mile see over a dozen fines handed out

More than a dozen fines were handed out to rule-breaking motorists caught during six hours of police action on the Fair Mile into Henley.

A report on the crackdown, which took place between 8am and 2pm on February 5, was prepared by the force for a Henley Town Council meeting.

One driver was arrested after testing positive for cocaine in a drug swab.

The driver arrested following the positive cocaine test had not yet been charged but the case “remains under investigation”.

The report said 13 fines had been issued to drivers and 21 were stopped and given road safety advice.

Thames Valley Police told the Standard that fixed penalty notices were handed out for driving with no tax, no MOT, not wearing seatbelts and insecure vehicle loads.

Others were for illegal window tints, speeding and one driver not being in proper control of the vehicle.

Fines ranged from £100 to £200, three vehicles were seized and some had points issued to their licence.
