MP’s post

HENLEY MP John Howell has been elected to justice select committee of the House of Commons.

The committee looks into the policy, administration and expenses of the Ministry of Justice and its associated public bodies.

Mr Howell said: “I am looking forward to playing a leading role in the upcoming work of the committee and to bringing a new perspective to the issues that we will be investigating. In particular, I will be using my position to promote the issues of public protection and the reduction of reoffending rates.”
