John Howell MP, the Member of Parliament for Henley, visited Physiolistic in the Greys Road, Henley, on Friday 9 January 2015. The business provides physiotherapy for the people of Henley as well as sports massages. He had a tour of the premises and discussed a number of issues with the owner. The visit arose because of a letter John had received asking a number of questions. He felt it better to go see the practice rather than simply responding in writing.
John said: “It was a great pleasure to visit another small business in Henley and to hear the pressures they are facing. Small businesses of this type are the life blood of the area and one reason our unemployment is down to 278. We discussed a number of issues including the application of VAT on what is deemed to be a medical practice, business rates and the future of the business in the light of the Neighbourhood Plan. It was particularly good to hear about the business and we also discussed how businesses of this size can access contracts with major national bodies such as the NHS.”
The MP invited Physiolistic to be part of a group he is putting together to put forward a realistic view of business rates for the Chancellor.
