I WAS born and raised in Henley. After spending some time working abroad and in Reading, I settled back in Henley with my partner Ben. I lived at Henley YMCA upon my return before having my daughter and moving into the town centre.
I was elected a town councillor in May 2011. I have spent the last four years on various committees and meeting all the people who make Henley the town it is.
Henley in Bloom, which I chair, has been a particular highlight and I have had the opportunity to learn a lot.
I would like to be re–elected to continue the work I have done so far, to campaign for HRG policies and residents’ issues. I would like to see the skate park finally built at Makins recreation ground and I would like to lead Henley to gold in the Entente Florale competition. I would also campaign to keep Henley YMCA for young local people.
To keep Henley special we must keep it local, run by residents for residents and that is why I am proud to stand for HRG, an independent local party without a national party whip. I want to stand for another four years because I believe in a fresher, brighter Henley Town Council, influenced by tradition with both new and experienced councillors working together and moving forward.
