Prospective councillor - Jeni Wood

I AM married with two adult children and live in Peppard Common. I am the current Deputy Mayor of Henley. I am standing for re–election as an Independent because I want to focus all my energy on working for the town, not on party politics, practising what I have been preaching for many years – that there is no place for party politics at town, parish and district level.

I am standing for district council too as I have proved to have been a strong voice for Henley, protecting our boundaries and ward name and speaking out on planning issues etc. Both councils need hardworking councillors like myself, who do not just turn up for committee and full council meetings but see the job through.

I applaud loyalty and fair play and hate bullying. Give me a good cause and I will fight for it, from saving beds at the new Townlands to opposing controversial planning issues. I was involved at Mill Meadows, ensuring a unique and safe toddler playground was built and that the refurbished lavatories have a specially adapted changing room for the use of disabled people of all ages.

With me what you see is what you get – a woman with a lot of experience of life, working hard for the people of Henley. Henley is a unique town, its people warm, friendly and caring. My children grew up here and I want to keep Henley just as special and safe for my grandchildren.
