Prospective councillor - Sam Evans

I HAVE lived in Henley for 15 years. I graduated from Leeds University with a degree

I HAVE lived in Henley for 15 years. I graduated from Leeds University with a degree in international history and politics and, following a media career in London, enjoyed a successful career as an international management consultant. Two years ago I launched Humphreys of Henley, a luxury concierge company.

I have served on the town council for four years and have enjoyed initiating and getting involved with numerous projects, from introducing new litter bins in Mill and Marsh Meadows to introducing the Ama of the Thames to Red Lion Lawn.

As a member of the planning committee, I have advised residents and businesses, helping them through the planning process, and have represented Henley at district council planning meetings.

I was part of the team that co–ordinated the new loos in Mill Meadows as well as helping to plan the new town markets and, most enjoyably, the Christmas Festival.

Living and working in Henley enables me to listen, learn and share ideas with fellow residents and business owners and to fully represent those views. I am an active member of the rugby club and enthusiastically support all the festivals, markets, retailers and events as I believe that we, as residents, are responsible for protecting and nurturing our precious market town.
