There’s no better vantage point for the town centre

HENLEY’s tea and coffee entrepreneur is selling her riverside garden flat to enable her to invest more time and money into her businesses.

Lorraine Hillier, who owns Hot Gossip coffee shop in Friday Street and the newly opened Upstairs & Downstairs in Duke Street, moved into her ground floor Thames Side apartment in 1990 after looking for a flat with a private garden for her cats.

With Grade II listed status, she had long admired the building and had harboured a wish to live there for many years. But now the sale of this rarely available one-bedroom ground floor apartment, that is located within easy walking distance of the town centre, is going to enable her to continue expanding her business empire.

Lorraine said: “Most people are settling down at my age for a quiet life but I still have hopes and dreams to fulfil. Doing new things helps keep you young and I like to have exciting challenges ahead of me. Having lots of material things only holds you back.”

Accommodation in the apartment includes a sitting room, dining room, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom with a private rear garden featuring a summerhouse with power and heating and communal front gardens. Lorraine has put in a lot of TLC over the years, opening up fireplaces and installing a wood-burning stove.
