FRIDAY, May 16 is National Work From Home Day, part of the Work Wise Week next month whose slogan is “Working better, living better”.
Statistics indicate that around 13 per cent of the population now works from home, so providing a space that is comfortable and productive within the home environment is now more important than ever. A home office regularly now crops up on a househunter’s list of requirements.
If you are thinking of installing a home office, here are a few pointers to help you in the design process.
1. What will be your budget?
It is important to start with a realistic budget so that you don’t overspend or get too attached to a particular desk or computer that won’t work within your financial constraints. Part of your budget consideration may involve your employer. They may have their own budget for employees who will be working at home and you could be entitled to a portion.
