Survey numbers reach six-year high with rise in seller activity

Survey numbers reach six-year high with rise in seller activity
THE number of houses being sold per surveyor has risen to the highest level in the last six years, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Residential Market Survey.

On average between January and March 2014, just over 22 homes were sold per chartered surveyor, the highest amount since February 2008.

With the surge in seller activity and more buyer enquiries recorded across nearly every part of the UK, the pressure is on for a quick turnaround from surveyors to prevent cracks forming in long property chains.

Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at RICS, said: “Now that the housing market recovery is well and truly underway and mortgage finance is more readily available, buyers seems to be looking to test the market right across the country.”

Romans Surveyors, one of the services now available to Henley’s customers since the recent merge between Jacksons Residential and the Romans Group, carry out more than 7,000 inspections every year. Their experienced surveyors guarantee a call back within 24 hours of making an enquiry and if you select the premium option you will receive your survey report no longer than five days after your inspection is complete, or you get your money back.
