ENTREPRENEUR Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic, was the guest speaker at speech day at Queen Anne’s School in Caversham.
Before presenting the prizes, she spoke about her experiences in business and offered some pieces of advice, including “it takes 15 years to create an overnight success”.
Vice-Admiral Peter Dunt, chairman of governors, welcomed girls, parents and guests to the occasion.
Headmistresss Julia Harrington gave a speech recapping the school year and saying how Queen Anne’s was preparing its pupils for a fast-changing world.
Throughout her speech, there were drama performances by Madeleine Pavey, 13, and Sophie McAlpine, 17, while Daphne Psarra, 14, and Anna Way, 13 performed a piece of slam poetry that they had written themselves.
