MAYFAIR auctioneers Dix Noonan Webb, who specialise in jewellery, coins and medals, are to hold a valuation day at Phyllis Court on Thursday (May 26).
Frances Noble, the head of the firm’s jewellery department, says: “Many people have jewellery they never wear, or have inherited family collections of coins or medals that just sit in the drawer.
“Our highly experienced team of London specialists will be visiting Phyllis Court Club on Thursday, giving local people the opportunity to get an up-to-date valuation on their jewellery, coins, medals or banknotes.
“Markets are constantly changing, and pieces may be worth much more than they realise.
“The valuations are given free of charge, and with no obligation, but where appropriate there is an opportunity for people to consign their items for sale with us in our autumn season at Dix Noonan Webb’s Mayfair auction rooms.”
DNW Auctioneers are the international market leaders in coins and medals, last year achieving a world record for the George Cross awarded to the Special Operations Executive secret agent Violette Szabo — one of only four George Crosses ever awarded to a woman — which fetched a record price of £312,000.
So do check your jewellery boxes and look out your neglected coin and medal collections, and join the DNW specialists in the Finlay Suite at Phyllis Court between 10am and 4pm on Thursday for a current valuation and a cup of coffee.
