First half charge wins it for Bulls

First half charge wins it for Bulls
BUOYED by the inclusion of James Hadfield, Christoph Bart and the return of Dave Clements to full action, the Bulls made the best of the dry conditions to stampede their way through a first half scoring five tries without a response at Old Albanians 2nds on Saturday.

All three of the aforementioned players contributed significantly as Hadfield and Clements served up a dominant scrum, providing ample platform for the Bulls to illustrate a variety of attacking options.

The first to benefit was hooker Warren Higgins who muscled his way across the whitewash following some effective mauling that the hosts struggled to contain.

Guy Swadling at fly-half slotted four of the five conversions in the first half. Captain Simon Perry added the second try and the first of his brace as he found a gap to burst through.

The tireless work of Tommy Haynes and Ben Ashmore helped to disorganise the Old Albanians defence both lifting and breaking around the fringes and off-loading effectively to supporting runners in lock Tom McGregor and the athletic Stapley. Ashmore soon had the easier task of dabbing down for the third try after a shove from the Bulls pack.
