Parry plunders Plymouth Albion as hosts close in on league title

HENLEY Hawks Women took a huge step to secure the Championship South West Division 2 table with victory over second placed Plymouth Albion at Dry Leas on Sunday.

Going into the match Plymouth trailed the Hawks by 17 points with two games in hand.

Playing on the main pitch, a good kick receipt meant the hosts moved the ball into space to allow good hands and an Atkinson finish from the halfway line after just one minute. The try was converted. Moments another fine move saw Parry dive into the left hand corner.

The visitors were finding it hard to deal with Henley’s pace and offloading. Forwards and backs combined well to then allow Hearn to burst through and reach over the line. Dudding converted.

Clever kicks into the visitors’ half kept the pressure on and eventually told as quick ball down the line saw Parry cross for her second. With the conversion complete the score matched the minutes played, 26-0.
