ABBEY were relegated on Saturday from Southern Counties North after losing 39-10 away to High Wycombe, writes Mark Hoskins.
It took the home side 30 seconds to register the first try as Abbey lost possession from the kick-off and High Wycombe’s Adam Lee cut through the line with ease to score. The conversion was missed.
There were more ominous signs of Abbey’s weaknesses a few minutes later when they allowed High Wycombe to launch a handling move from their own line. Once again Lee looked dangerous but he was halted in the visitors’ 22.
High Wycombe doubled the score after seven minutes when number eight Craig Murray finished off a smart handling move. Again the conversion was missed.
