Former player takes head coach role at Henley Hawks

HENLEY HAWKS, relegated from National Division 1 on the last day of the season, have had a reshuffle amongst their management and coaches as they prepare to bounce back this coming campaign.

Director of rugby Mike Poulson has stepped down from his post due to business interests and has been replaced by head coach Nigel Dudding.

The role of head coach will now be taken by former player Pete Davies. Davies has also been the Hawks’ attacks coach for the last five years.

The new forwards coach will be Luke Allen who joined the Hawks from Cinderford last year where he had had a successful playing career for three seasons before suffering a serious neck injury in pre-season preparation which limited his Hawks appearances to eight games.

This has forced Allen’s retirement from the game but he has obtained qualification as a senior coach.
