Hawks win clash of champions

HENLEY HAWKS, winners of last season?s National Division 2 South title, got back to winning ways last Saturday as they defeated Hull Ionians, last season?s Division 2 North champions, by six tries to three at Dry Leas.

HENLEY HAWKS, winners of last season?s National Division 2 South title, got back to winning ways last Saturday as they defeated Hull Ionians, last season?s Division 2 North champions, by six tries to three at Dry Leas.

The hosts took a 28-3 half-time lead before the visitors hit back with 12 points in the space of four minutes just after half time.

The Hawks hit back with further tries to run out 40-20 winners. The Hawks try scorers were Luke Carter (2), Robbie Stapley, Martin Nutt, Alan Awcock and Dave Clements. James Comben kicked four conversions while Liam O?Neill kicked one.
