THE significance of the poppy for me is twofold. We have a solemn duty never to forget the horrors of past wars and current conflicts and the effect it has on peoples lives.

THE significance of the poppy for me is twofold. We have a solemn duty never to forget the horrors of past wars and current conflicts and the effect it has on peoples lives.

Huge sacrifices have been made by our servicemen and their families and to focus on these at least once a year is only right and proper. In addition of course the funds raised are massively important.

On a personal level my brother and I lost a father when we were both incredibly young as a result of warfare. We must never forget.
