HENLEY Hawks slipped to their heaviest defeat of the season on Saturday as they went down 39-5 away to Blaydon.

Despite dominating possession for long spells of the game, it was the home side who eased to victory with three tries being scored in each half.

Henley?s only reply came in the second half when Liam O?Neill scored a try after 49 minutes after being put clear by Will Robinson.

The result saw the hosts leapfrog the Hawks into eight place, with Henley slipping to ninth.

This Saturday Henley Hawks return to Dry Leas when they entertain Old Albanians (kick-off 3pm).
