HENLEY HAWKS WOMEN proved too good for hosts Rosslyn Park as they eased their way into the next round of the Intermediate Cup on Sunday after running in 11 tries without reply.
With the first team pitch out of action the game took place on the pitches inside Richmond Park.
Henley started quickly and took the lead after just five minutes as Wells finished off a well worked move. Despite Park’s large pack, Henley’s pace was going to be a problem for the hosts.
With the sun in their eyes Henley picked Park apart and none more so than Hearn, who proceeded to run in three more tries.
The forwards were now starting to break the line too, with Wysocki-Jones, Wheeler and Ferguson all making big yards. Further first half tries from Lynch and Atkinson meant the half-time score finished 42-0.
It didn’t take long for the scoring to continue in the second half as Wells ran in another time from the ensuing kick-off.
Park then tried to play in the Hawks’ half and brought their big runners into the game more but their efforts were thwarted by the solid defence and hits led by Barrett, Solowin and Simpson.
This allowed more holes to appear on turnover as Hearn topped off a fine performance for her fourth and Louise Carr, who caused havoc all day, crossed soon after. Atkinson then finished off a clever move down the right hand side.
Park restarted for the final time, the ball was gathered well in the 22 and Wheeler picked a line to break through. Good support was on hand and the offloads reached Atkinson to finish from the half way and claim her third. Dudding, playing at scrum half, converted well and finished eight kicks out of 11 taken.
