A LARGE crowd at Maidenhead Rugby Club saw The Henley College defeat Argentine touring side Tucuman on Friday night.

The Henley tries were scored by Pat George, Tom Holme Smith and a brace from Taylor Stephens. Speaking after the game, man-of-the-match Stephens said: “They were very powerful and we were often behind in a fast and hard game.”

Captain Rory McMeekhan added: “That was one of the toughest games of my life, we expected a big front row as is their reputation but they were actually not that big, just solid.

“The boys stuck to the task well and it really was terrific playing against a different style and tempo, I was proud of our young side, almost all U17s and first years at The Henley College.”
